Taste and compare
We taste different matchas side by side, so you learn what good matcha looks, smells and tastes like.

Learn how to make it
The most important things about making matcha: how much to use, why the water should be 70–80 °C, and how to whisk it.

Whisk your own
Then everyone makes their own matcha drink, from the first scoop to the last whisk.
Why matcha
Why a matcha workshop works for groups
“Matcha can be a tool. I want it to be the tool that brings people together.”
Sintija, founder of Efflo

Everyone takes part
A workshop is hands-on from the start. Everyone measures, whisks and tastes, so nobody just sits and watches.

No experience needed
You don't need to know anything about matcha or tea. We start from the first scoop, and by the end everyone has made their own drink.

Time to slow down
Making matcha takes a few quiet minutes and both hands. It is a different pace from the rest of the day, and people talk while they whisk.

Something to keep
What you learn works at home the next morning: how much matcha to use, how hot the water should be, and how to whisk it smooth.

With partners
Matcha, and something more
Our public workshops happen with partners around Riga, and each one pairs matcha with something else: a matcha tasting, and then a craft, like working with clay in a ceramics studio.
We like to bring matcha to places it doesn't usually go: a ceramics studio, a clothing pop-up, a retreat. Each workshop's date, place and price are on its own page.

For companies
Matcha at your company event
A matcha bar works wherever people gather: a conference break, a client evening, a team day, a launch or the office party. Every drink is made fresh in front of your guests, so the bar becomes a place to stop and talk.
It is something different from the usual coffee break, and it brings the same feeling as our workshops: people slowing down for a moment, together.
Questions
What happens at a matcha workshop?
Together we get to know matcha, learn the most important things about making it, and compare different matchas side by side. Then everyone whisks their own matcha drink.
Do we need to know anything about matcha?
No. We start from the very beginning, with the first scoop, so it works for people who have never had matcha and for those who drink it every day.
Is a matcha workshop good for team building?
Yes. It is hands-on, everyone takes part, and nobody needs any experience. People make something together and talk while they do it, which is what a good team day is for.
What kind of events is the matcha bar for?
Anywhere people gather: conferences, client evenings, team days, launches, office parties and celebrations. We come to you and make fresh matcha drinks for your guests.
How do I book?
Choose a workshop, your group size or the number of drinks, and place your order. For a private workshop or an event, we will get in touch to agree on the date, the place and the details.
Where do the workshops take place?
Our workshops with partners are in Riga, and each one lists its venue, date and time. A private workshop happens at your place: your office, your home or wherever your group meets. If you need a space, let us know before you book and we will agree on it with you. The matcha bar comes to your event.
What if our group is bigger than 20 people?
For bigger groups and events, the matcha bar comes to you and makes fresh matcha drinks for every guest. Or write to us, and we will find a way.
