About us
Inspiration in everyday moments
We exist to celebrate the quiet rituals of the in-between moments, the spaces where life unfolds softly and meaningfully. More than just matcha, Efflo is about slowing down long enough to feel connected: to your senses, to your surroundings, to the people and passions that matter most.

Our story
Matcha has been a quiet constant in my life, a thread woven through years of movement, growth, and connection.
I first found it while studying dance in Canada, clutching warm cups between classes and late-night rehearsals. Later, it became part of the rhythm of my relationships, shared over long conversations, date nights, and lazy Sundays. My favorite cafes became places I brought old friends to reconnect and sometimes where I met new ones for the first time.
What made those moments meaningful wasn't just the drink itself; it was everything that surrounded it. The laughter, the stillness, the comfort of familiar faces and the spark of new beginnings.
That's the spirit I hope to share with Efflo Matcha.
A space to slow down.
A moment to savor.
An invitation to connect with what (and who) matters most.
May your next cup be grounding, inspiring, and exactly what you need.
With love,
Sintija
How Efflo began
A first cup
Vancouver
I started drinking matcha ten years ago, when I lived in Canada. One of my best friends bought me my first cup on a break from dance. It wasn't anything wow, but it got my attention. I wanted to know more.
Years of movement
Dance
I studied dance and choreography, creating projects and collaborating with artists. Matcha came with me, between classes and late-night rehearsals.
Starting Efflo
2025
I always talked about starting my own business, but I couldn't decide what. After many conversations with friends and my husband, usually over matcha, I realized matcha was the thing that excited me most.
Matcha, shared
Riga
Today Efflo is matcha we'd drink ourselves, pop-ups like the Efflo Matcha Bar, and workshops where people come together over a bowl.
Japan
Next
To meet the farm and the people who grow our matcha.

Where our matcha comes from
Our matcha comes from Shizuoka, Japan. We buy it through a supplier who has worked with the same producers for ten years and visits them twice a year.
I haven't been to Japan myself yet. For now I see the fields through photos and videos, and that's how I feel connected to Japan. Going there to meet the farm is my next big goal.
We only choose matcha that we like and would drink ourselves.

Matcha we'd drink ourselves
You can find matcha almost anywhere, but you don't always know what you're getting. With us, you know where it comes from, and that we really care about the quality.

Bringing people together
Matcha has always been something I share: over long conversations, with old friends and new ones.

Matcha, your way
It's okay to be experimental. Try new recipes, put it in food, make desserts, and take it to places you wouldn't expect.

Workshops and events
Matcha, together
We host matcha workshops, masterclasses and team-building events in Riga, for friends, for teams, and for anyone curious about matcha.
Like our Efflo Matcha Bar pop-ups, they're about bringing people together. The matcha is only part of the experience.

For cafés
Matcha for your menu
When someone makes me a latte and it smells like seaweed and tastes bad, it makes my heart sad. Good matcha in cafés matters to us.
We work with cafés, restaurants and shops that make matcha drinks every day. Our matcha for cafés comes in 500 g and 1 kg bags, with a full taste that comes through milk and syrups, cup after cup.
Matcha for cafésThe name
Why Efflo
Efflo comes from the word efflorescent. For me it's about a flower when it blooms: rebirth, finding something new, following the path. And I just like the way it sounds.
